Sliding door system 

To make it easy to make the fire or to add more wood, the glass door of the Ultime D can be slid upwards. This is simple and easy thanks to the balanced door system and the handle supplied. The smart frameless finish to this door system ensures a handsome aesthetic finish that fits seamlessly into sleek interiors. 

 

 

Easy-clean door system 

Two and three-sided Ultime D models are equipped with a retractable door system so that it is easily accessed for cleaning.

The glass can also by fully raised for easy lighting or loading of wood.


 

 

Easy-clean door system

Front and double-sided models have a door system that allows the user to tilt the glass forward so that it is easily accessible for cleaning. The glass can also be completely lifted up for easy lighting or loading of wood.

Spark screen

As an option, the Ultime D can be fitted with a spark guard. Via the folded edge, the spark guard can be easily moved up and down by hand. The purpose of the spark guard is to prevent embers and glowing particles from landing on the floor. Makes sure small children and animals are kept away from the glass or fire. Available in black, maple gold or terracotta.

Combustion air supply

The combustion air supply can be adjusted using the supplied handle. Maximum air supply for combustion is achieved when the slidable handle is moved completely to the right.
It is best to slide the lever completely to the right when lighting the fire. Once the kindling wood is nicely ignited after 10 to 15 minutes, the air regulator can be put back in the middle position.
If the handle is in the middle position, the fireplace burns at nominal heat output. In this position, the combustion and efficiency are best when the chimney is drawing at 12 Pascal.
Moving the handle further to the left reduces the air supply and this decreases the output of the fireplace. When you slide the handle further to the left from the middle position, this reduces the air supply in the fireplace. Once the air supply is in the fully left position, the fire in the fireplace will be extinguished.

Enhanced Heating Options

The possibility of choosing between a ceramic heating bottom and a 10mm steel bottom with a grate and ash pan is available for specific types of fireplaces, namely the 2-sided, 3-sided, and double-sided Ultime D fireplaces. These fireplaces offer the flexibility to select the type of heating bottom that best suits your needs.

The ceramic material used in the heating bottom is known for its excellent thermal properties. This option is well-suited for who prioritize heat retention and prefer a steady and prolonged heating experience.

Alternatively, the 10mm steel bottom with a grate and ash pan offers a different set of benefits. The steel construction provides durability and strength to withstand high temperatures and daily use. The grate and ash pan allow for convenient ash removal and make the cleaning process easier. This option is ideal for those who prefer a minimalistic fireplace setup with easy maintenance and cleaning.

Positioning the appliance 

The fireplace is equipped with 4 adjustable support feet
The height of the support feet can be adjusted both inside and outside the fireplace. 
If the highest position of the support feet is not sufficient, a supporting structure must be built on which the fireplace can be placed. This must be sufficiently solid and stable to support the weight of the stove

Fuel: Wood 

To obtain optimal combustion, the moisture content of the wood should be no more than 15% If this is not the case, the glass will quickly become soiled and appliance will be less efficient. To achieve this moisture content, the wood must be dried for two to three years in a dry well-ventilated place. The most suitable wood types are beech, oak and birch. Each of our fireplaces has an optimal wood load: for the Ultime D 600 and 800 models this is a maximum of four 25 cm logs with a total weight of 3.2kg. For the Ultime D 1050 and 1300 models the ideal load is a maximum of three 30 cm logs with a total weight of 3.5kg. The use of resinous wood types, chipboard, laminate, treated wood or accelerants is strongly discouraged, as it produces sparks and a short burning time. It also harms your fireplace and the environment. 


 

Responsible wood burning  

Wood heating can only be economical, healthy and ecological if it is used in the right conditions! Choice of equipment, choice of wood, feeding the stove, maintenance... With these conditions you can reduce the emission of fine particles and other air pollutants, but also increase the efficiency of your combustion. Interior finishing

Original | Triangle | Round 

Like the 'Original' vertical cast-iron slats, the new finishes of the Triangle and Round versions exude minimalism. While these innovative additions stay true to Metalfire's love of clean and simple design, they also add a certain dynamism to our range. The Triangle cast-iron slats represent a more angular approach to the inside of the fireplace, while the Round cast-iron slats - based on a design by belgian architect Benoit Viaene - are characterised by gentle curves. The common denominator is the elegant rhythm in both surfaces, which creates an interesting dialogue with the warm light of the fire. The sleek and refined finish of the Original, Triangle and Round versions fits perfectly into any interior (in any fireplace) and is also a real eye-catcher, whether the fire is burning or not.

Ceramic
Concrete look

This new interior finish, several panels together create a beautiful concrete look for a trendy and timeless effect. Thanks to its enormous heat resistance, it is ideal as interior cladding for fireplaces.

MADE-TO-MEASURE 

Alongside its fireplace collection, Metalfire also specialises in additional MADE-TO-MEASURE solutions, finishing frames, concepts, floor plates, wood storage, etc. These items are manufactured to the design of the customer/architect/interior designer.
The technical department will submit the production plan to the customer for approval, and will then create these unique pieces through the skilled hands of the craftsmen in our workshop. This gives the products a unique appeal which simply can’t be achieved by automated production processes.
